Top Obama Officials Have Opposite Views on Threat of Terrorism. Is it Any Wonder They Can't Deal with the Problem?

After six years of incompetence and indifference this won't come as a surprise!

On Wednesday, Secretary of State John Kerry said this:
"Despite ISIL, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are, we are actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world than normally; less deaths, less violent deaths today, than through the last century."
On Thursday, James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee:
The year 2014 saw the highest rate of political instability since 1992, the most deaths as a result of state-sponsored mass killings ince the early 1990's and the highest number of refugees and internally displaced persons, or IDPs, since WWII."
Next, Clapper added:
“When the final counting is done, 2014 will have been the most lethal year for global terrorism in the 45 years such a data has been compiled."
Any reasonable person might expect that the top officials in American government would be working off the same set of facts especially during such troubled times. But apparently Kerry and the Islam deniers insist on repeating their delusions as if that will make them true.

Even Jake Tapper at CNN found the contrast a bit much:

No one should really be surprised by Kerry's indifference to the facts laid out by Clapper. After all, Kerry thinks global warming is a bigger threat than terrorism and is only too willing to repeat the big lie that extreme weather events are increasing despite government data which shows the exact opposite. I gues when there's some misinformation that fits his prejudices and preferences he just can't let go!

Kerry's willful ignorance is endemic in many part of the Obama Administration, including the White House. It's no surprise then that they have been so completely unable, or unwilling to effectively address the threat!
