The Swamp Strikes Back: Obama Loyalists Still in Government Seek to Undermine Lawful Trump Administration with Illegal Leaks

The left used to worry about civil rights abuses of big government. Now they cheer them!

Remember all the hand wringing those on the left engaged in when discussing powers of the Federal Government to monitor communications of Americans? Apparently that's no longer an issue until the target for abuse is a Democrat and not a Republican.

Behind the scenes, a shadowy group of individuals working for the U.S. government, some in the previous Obama Administration, some still working but with loyalty to Obama appear to have orchestrated a series of leaks undermining the Trump Administration.

It started with the leaks of notes about Trump's phone calls to foreign leaders where it was suggested Trump threatened to send troops to Mexico. Now, it concerns retired General Michael Flynn, forced to resign as National Security Adviser after reports of a conversation with the Russian Ambassador was leaked.

A discussion between Flynn, an American citizen and a part of the Trump transition team should have been protected by law from any unauthorized release. But as we've seen in Seattle where a Judge simply ignores clear law to block Trump's immigration order the left has once again acted outside the law.

Throughout the news cycle Capitol Hill Democrats, joined by useful idiots like Sens. Graham and McCain, insist there must be an investigation into why Flynn had contacts with the Russians in the first place. Answer, it's HIS JOB! Funny how the same people who moaned about the costs of investigations when Hillary Clinton was the subject are now all hepped up for some investigatin.'

They need not bother on that score. In a LONG piece by the New York Times the paper reveals "no evidence" of any collusion between Trump's men and Russia. The real need for an investigation is who has been making these illegal leaks? And we can bet Dems will do everything they can to change the subject when that comes up.

In fact, Dems are so desperate to keep looking for the Russian under the bed that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Hillary coverup king Rep. Elijah Cummings rushed to the microphones yesterday after a fake Tweet purporting to be from General Flynn suggested he was fired to cover up for others in the Trump Administration. But to Democrats it won't matter if the source of their outrage is fake or not. It's all politics to them.

Here's the real problem. From Eli Lake: "The Political Assassination of Michael Flynn:"
Normally intercepts of U.S. officials and citizens are some of the most tightly held government secrets. This is for good reason. Selectively disclosing details of private conversations monitored by the FBI or NSA gives the permanent state the power to destroy reputations from the cloak of anonymity. This is what police states do.

In the past it was considered scandalous for senior U.S. officials to even request the identities of U.S. officials incidentally monitored by the government (normally they are redacted from intelligence reports). John Bolton's nomination to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations was derailed in 2006 after the NSA confirmed he had made 10 such requests when he was Undersecretary of State for Arms Control in George W. Bush's first term. The fact that the intercepts of Flynn's conversations with Kislyak appear to have been widely distributed inside the government is a red flag.

Representative Devin Nunes, the Republican chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, told me Monday that he saw the leaks about Flynn's conversations with Kislyak as part of a pattern. "There does appear to be a well orchestrated effort to attack Flynn and others in the administration," he said. "From the leaking of phone calls between the president and foreign leaders to what appears to be high-level FISA Court information, to the leaking of American citizens being denied security clearances, it looks like a pattern."
And another comment by Rep. Nunes:
"If [the Flynn conversation] was picked up inadvertently, then that would have had to have been approved by someone in the last administration to actually unmask his name so that the FBI or intelligence officials knew who it was on the other end of the phone talking to the Russian ambassador," Nunes told Fox News. "If, in fact, the press reports are right, someone made the decision to deliberately listen to General Flynn's phone calls and that is, I think, unprecedented, unwarranted and flat-out wrong."
Obamaites seek to protect Iran agreement

The main beneficiary of Flynn's ouster is Iran. Gen. Flynn was behind a move to make public the secret parts of the Iran deal which Obama refused to release. Those secret agreements may provide further ignominy to an already discredited deal and Obama's tattered legacy. The left will do anything to stop that from happening and former Obama aides are directly involved in an effort to fight Flynn from behind the scenes. In a report by the Free Beacon:
"It's undeniable that the campaign to discredit Flynn was well underway before Inauguration Day, with a very troublesome and politicized series of leaks designed to undermine him," said one veteran national security adviser with close ties to the White House team. "This pattern reminds me of the lead up to the Iran deal, and probably features the same cast of characters."

The Free Beacon first reported in January that, until its final days in office, the Obama administration hosted several pro-Iran voices who were critical in helping to mislead the American public about the terms of the nuclear agreement. This included a former Iranian government official and the head of the National Iranian American Council, or NIAC, which has been accused of serving as Iran's mouthpiece in Washington, D.C.

Since then, top members of the Obama administration's national security team have launched a communications infrastructure after they left the White House, and have told reporters they are using that infrastructure to undermine Trump's foreign policy.

"It's actually Ben Rhodes, NIAC, and the Iranian mullahs who are celebrating today," said one veteran foreign policy insider who is close to Flynn and the White House. "They know that the number one target is Iran … [and] they all knew their little sacred agreement with Iran was going to go off the books. So they got rid of Flynn before any of the [secret] agreements even surfaced."

Flynn had been preparing to publicize many of the details about the nuclear deal that had been intentionally hidden by the Obama administration as part of its effort to garner support for the deal, these sources said.

Flynn is now "gone before anybody can see what happened" with these secret agreements, said the second insider close to Flynn and the White House.
Note, Ben Rhodes was the key player in the Benghazi coverup who forced agencies to claim a video was the cause of the attacks.

In many of these agencies Obama Administration officials either remain in place because Democrats have blocked confirmation of their replacements or they have "burrowed in" to the civil service. There is no doubt that their loyalties lie more with Obama than with Trump.

Democrats have shown that they will go to any lengths for power. Even to the point of criminal behavior and corrupting the most highly secret government organizations to serve that lust for power. Trump must wake up to the reality that a cancer is growing inside the government he seeks to lead and deal with it now!

UPDATE: Hysteria Alert: Trump worse than 9/11 attacks and Pearl Harbor. These people are literally losing their minds!
